A journey driven by technological curiosity

I earned a DUT in Chemistry, which I later complemented with a DPCT (Technical Undergraduate Degree) in Electronics. I began my career at Unaxis, where I discovered the world of cleanrooms, then continued at Faure Technologies. Deeply drawn to research and innovative technologies, I joined Soitec 21 years ago.

Life in the cleanroom

For the past three years, I have been a technician within the MTBE (Metrology Test Back End) team of the GCM (Global Contamination Management). My role is to ensure that the cleanrooms comply with our customers’ standards and the strict requirements of microelectronics. To achieve this, we carry out various measurement checks, working closely with many teams across the site. I am also responsible for the “Clean Concept” training provided to newcomers.

The MTBE team is very dynamic, with a strong spirit of mutual support. The cleanroom area is vast, which makes monitoring everything a real challenge. I also enjoy the interactions with operators, who are always ready to collaborate whenever needed.

It’s a demanding job, structured by schedules, combining scientific rigor with strong human connections. It is precisely this diversity that I value most in my work.

Inclusion as a driving force for commitment

In parallel, I volunteer at Loisirs Pluriel Porte des Alpes, a leisure center for children and teenagers with disabilities, which also welcomes children without disabilities. The supervision rate is tailored to the children’s needs and can be as close as one adult for one child. This inclusive approach is invaluable, as many parents—including myself—would simply be unable to work without such a structure to welcome their children.

I am particularly involved in CinéRelax, monthly cinema sessions open to all, held in Saint-Égrève or Saint-Martin-d’Hères. There are no advertisements, the sound is lowered, and the lights remain dim. Volunteers are present to support families when needed and ensure that everyone has a pleasant experience. The cinema truly becomes a place open to all, without exception. My role is simple: to welcome families with kindness, listen to their needs, and, if a child needs to move around or step out during the film, I take care of them so the rest of the family can continue enjoying the screening peacefully. My son also takes part in these moments, which makes the experience even more meaningful.

What strikes me most during these events is seeing families happy to go to the movies together. Even when things don’t go as planned, coming back, trying again, watching the children progress—it changes everything. And that’s exactly what gives real meaning to what we do.

When work and volunteering come together

Between my job and my volunteering, I find many common threads: ongoing training, communication with a wide range of people, managing schedules… In both cases, it’s hands-on, you need to adapt, stay focused, and put in the energy. These experiences complement and enrich one another.

And beyond that?

Outside of work and volunteering, I love spending time with my children. One of my dreams is to take a hot air balloon flight with them. We love watching paragliders take off and land, especially during the Coupe Icare, the world’s largest free flight and ultralight aviation event. At this annual gathering, we also get to admire many hot air balloons, which always fuels our dreams!
